Baby Why Can't You See

from My Shady Days by Chad Shue

/

about

Written in 1968 when I was 15 years old, "Baby Why Can't You See" was written as a response to a failed "romance." It was greatly influenced by many ballads coming from the bands of the British Invasion.

lyrics

Baby Why Can’t You See

When I wake up and find that you’re not there; all my troubles seem so hard to bear
I know I’ll never find the dreams that we once shared. Baby why can’t you see

We were so happy; carefree as could be. I pledged my heart to you and you pledged yours to me
We shared the kind of love to last eternally. Baby why can’t you see

And then one day you said you had to go. To chase a dream that only you could know
And though I cried, you said you must be free. Now deep inside this is really killing me.

………………….Baby why can’t you see

And then one day you said you had to go. To chase a dream that only you could know
And though I cried, you said you must be free. Now deep inside this is really killing me.

When I wake up and find that you’re not there; all my troubles seem so hard to bear
I know I’ll never find the dreams that we once shared. Baby why can’t you see
Baby why can’t you see? Baby why can’t you see?
